Work In Progress (WIP)
One of my writing buddies recently made a comment about WIP (which you probably know is writer-speak for “work in progress”) versus whip, which we agreed is a whole other genre, but what writers sometimes need. Currently, my leisurely pace might not qualify as “work,” but I’m excited about what’s underway.
The backup
After the death of her wife, Carolyn Craddick (CeeCee), a much sought-after backup singer, quits the music business. Years later, her best friend convinces her to try again, when a famous female duo is having tryouts.
Sparks will fly as CeeCee learns there’s more to this gig than singing backup. Temperamental Allison Bentley wants to control every aspect of the band’s show, but must first reveal the truth of her singing partner’s (Janie Travers) health issues.
